KATHMANDU — Tribhuvan Army Club continued their ruthless streak in the PM Cup. They dismantled Gandaki Province by seven wickets to claim their second consecutive win of the tournament. The departmental side made light work of a 210-run target, chasing it down in just 34 overs. They simply outclassed the opposition.
The Chase: A Masterclass in Partnerships
The Army’s pursuit was defined by two massive century stands. These partnerships effectively shut Gandaki out of the contest. Openers Trit Raj Das and skipper Binod Bhandari set a punishing tone from the first ball, putting on 110 runs for the first wicket. Bhandari led from the front, smashing 58 runs off 57 balls. His knock featured seven boundaries and two towering sixes before his departure.
Though Arjun Saud fell for a duck shortly after, Das anchored the innings with a steady 51. This ensured the momentum didn’t stall. The game was then put to bed by Bhim Sharki and Kushal Malla, who shared an unbeaten 100-run partnership. Sharki’s aggressive 54 not out served as the knockout blow. Gandaki’s bowlers looked toothless against the onslaught.

Gandaki’s Struggle for Rhythm
Earlier in the day, Gandaki Province opted to bat first after winning the toss. They struggled to find a finishing kick. Arjun Kumal played a gritty, lone-hand innings of 76 from 102 balls, desperate to give his side a fighting chance. Deepak Dumre added a quick-fire 51, but the rest of the batting order crumbled under pressure.
The Army’s bowling attack, led by Akash Chand and Shahab Alam, exploited the conditions perfectly. They picked up three wickets each. Kushal Malla chipped in with two wickets of his own, restricting Gandaki to 209 all out in the 50th over. It wasn’t nearly enough.
With this result, the Army climbs to four points, firmly establishing itself as the team to beat. Meanwhile, Gandaki remains winless, searching for answers after two straight defeats. The gulf in class was evident.
