Kathmandu—On Saturday, the Nepali youth football team suffered a 2-0 defeat against the visiting Chinese Yunnan provincial team in an international friendly at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwor.
Yu Minghui and Wang Binhan were the difference-makers for Yunnan, each finding the net to secure a comfortable win for the visitors.
Minghui put Yunnan ahead in the 21st minute, expertly heading home a Li Suhan cross to break the deadlock. Nepal struggled to respond, failing to capitalize on their attacking opportunities.
Binhan sealed the victory in the 78th minute, finishing off a swift counterattack to double Yunnan's lead and put the result beyond doubt.
The match was a crucial test for the Nepali youth, but the hosts must regroup and sharpen their finishing ahead of future fixtures.
