Boys Union Club and Jhapa Football Club played out a 1-1 draw in their Shahid Smarak B Division League clash at the ANFA Complex in Lalitpur.
Boys Union registered their third consecutive draw, while Jhapa finally got off the mark after back-to-back defeats in their opening two matches.
Jhapa took the lead just before halftime, with Nikesh Shrestha finding the net in the 45th minute. Shrestha capitalized on a well-placed pass from Pradeep Budhathoki, slotting the ball home inside the penalty area.
However, Jhapa's advantage was short-lived. Boys Union responded almost immediately, as Sanjeev Lama unleashed a stunning long-range strike from 25 yards out in first-half injury time to level the score.
Both sides pressed for a winner in the second half, but neither could find the breakthrough. The match ended in a 1-1 stalemate, with both teams taking home a point each.
With this result, Boys Union remain unbeaten but winless, in eighth place with three points from three matches. Meanwhile, Jhapa, who had suffered two straight losses, are now in 12th place with a single point.
In the day's second match, Brigade Boys Club will take on Bansbari Club.
