KATHMANDU – On Sunday, Butwal Lumbini FC and Jhapa FC were forced to share the spoils after a hard-fought goalless draw in the Nepal Super League (NSL) Season 3 clash at Dasharath Stadium.
Jhapa dominated proceedings, particularly in the final 20 minutes, after Butwal Lumbini were reduced to 10 men. Captain Eric Bista was given his marching orders in the 70th minute following a second yellow card, leaving his side on the back foot.
However, Jhapa failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage, with their attackers unable to break down a resolute Butwal defence.
The result follows a thrilling 2-2 draw in the league opener on Saturday between former champions Lalitpur City FC and Kathmandu Rangers.
Meanwhile, the action continues on Monday as Pokhara Thunders takes on FC Chitwan under the floodlights at 6 PM.
