Chhahari, Sankata Cruise to Back-to-Back Wins in Women's League Qualifiers

Kathmandu — Chhahari Youth Club and Sankata Club continued their perfect starts in the ANFA Women's League Qualifiers on Tuesday, registering dominant victories at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato. Chhahari run riot against Student FC. Chhahari Youth Club delivered a stunning attacking display to thrash Student FC 6–1 and claim their second straight win in Group' A'. With six points from two matches, Chhahari now sit firmly at the top of the table. They had opened their campaign with a 3–0 win over FC Real. Sumitra Singh Pakhrin was the star of the match, scoring twice, while Asmita Chaudhary, Lalita Mandal, Sanima Maya Loh, and Dipa Pun Magar all added one apiece. For Student FC, Sabina Tamang netted a consolation goal. Chhahari drew first blood in the 16th minute through Sumitra, before Asmita doubled the advantage in the 35th. Three minutes later, Sumitra struck again to make it 3–0. Lalita extended the lead in the 56th minute, while Sabina briefly gave Student hope with a goal in the 67th. But two quickfire strikes in the 75th and 76th minutes from Sanima and Dipa sealed an emphatic 6–1 victory. The defeat was Student FC's first of the campaign, leaving them with three points from two games. They had earlier defeated Sindhupalchok FC 3–1.

Sankata overpowered Jhapa FC.

In Group B, Sankata Club eased to a 4–0 victory over Jhapa FC, making it two wins out of two. Having edged Nepal Sports Club 1–0 in their opener, Sankata now lead their group with six points. Striker Sukriya Miya scored twice to set the tone, netting in the 20th and 28th minutes to give Sankata a 2–0 halftime lead. Pratiksha Rai made it 3–0 in the 55th minute before a late strike from Renisha Sharma sealed the win in the dying stages of the match. Jhapa, who had thrashed Nepal Waste Management Club 7–0 in their first outing, slumped to their first defeat but still sit second in the group with three points. The only blemish in Sankata's convincing display came when goalkeeper Sushila Kumari Chaudhary was sent off in the 80th minute after receiving her second yellow card. Despite being reduced to 10 players, Sankata comfortably saw out the contest and even added a fourth.
