Kathmandu — Nepal's campaign in the SAFF U-17 Women's Championship suffered another setback as they were beaten 3–0 by Bangladesh at the Changlimithang Stadium.
Bangladesh, who now have six points from three matches, climbed to second place in the standings. Nepal, with one win and two defeats from the same number of games, sit third on three points.
Nepal had previously endured a heavy 7–0 defeat to India before bouncing back with a 2–1 victory over Bhutan. Bangladesh, meanwhile, had beaten Bhutan 3–1 but lost 2–0 to India earlier in the competition.
On Saturday, Bangladesh secured the win through goals from Thunue Marma, Souravi Akhanda Preeti, and Mamoni Chakma. Marma opened the scoring in the 41st minute, before Preeti doubled the lead just three minutes later. Chakma sealed the victory with a stoppage-time strike to cap a commanding performance. In the day's earlier fixture, India thrashed Bhutan 8–0 to extend their dominance in the tournament.
