Kathmandu β Nepal's campaign in the SAFF U-17 Women's Championship suffered another setback as they were beaten 3β0 by Bangladesh at the Changlimithang Stadium.
Bangladesh, who now have six points from three matches, climbed to second place in the standings. Nepal, with one win and two defeats from the same number of games, sit third on three points.
Nepal had previously endured a heavy 7β0 defeat to India before bouncing back with a 2β1 victory over Bhutan. Bangladesh, meanwhile, had beaten Bhutan 3β1 but lost 2β0 to India earlier in the competition.
On Saturday, Bangladesh secured the win through goals from Thunue Marma, Souravi Akhanda Preeti, and Mamoni Chakma. Marma opened the scoring in the 41st minute, before Preeti doubled the lead just three minutes later. Chakma sealed the victory with a stoppage-time strike to cap a commanding performance. In the day's earlier fixture, India thrashed Bhutan 8β0 to extend their dominance in the tournament.
