Nabin Neupane Appointed Head Coach of Nepal Women's National Football Team

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed Nabin Neupane as the new head coach of the Nepal women's national football team. ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai formally handed Neupane his appointment letter on Thursday at the federation's headquarters in Satdobato. One of the most prominent names in domestic coaching, Neupane recently guided Nepal's U-23 squad in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers in Uzbekistan. Just two weeks later, he has now been entrusted with the responsibility of leading the senior women's side. The post had remained vacant for the past two months following the resignation of Belgian coach Patrick De Wilde, who had managed the team during the Asian Cup qualifiers in Uzbekistan. De Wilde stepped down shortly after the campaign, citing dissatisfaction with ANFA's management.

Neupane is not entirely new to the role. In November last year, he was appointed interim head coach and led the Nepal to international friendlies against Tajikistan and Afghanistan in Dushanbe. According to ANFA, Neupane will serve as head coach at least until the following year's South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women's Championship. Alongside Neupane's appointment, ANFA has confirmed Bhagwati Thapa and Raj Kumar KC as assistant coaches. Bindra Dewan will continue as team manager, Shila Giri will remain as physiotherapist, while Bikash Gurung has been named the new kit manager.
