The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has appointed Hari Khadka as the interim head coach of the Nepal national football team. The appointment was made official on Friday when ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai handed Khadka his appointment letter at the associationâs headquarters in Satdobato, Lalitpur. Khadka, a former head coach of the Nepal senior womenâs national team, currently serves as ANFAâs Technical Director. His promotion comes just a day after the resignation of former head coach Matt Ross, who stepped down from the role on Thursday. Under Khadkaâs leadership, Nepal will face Malaysia on November 18 in the third round of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers. Although Nepal is already out of contention for qualification, the team still has two remaining matches to complete in the group stage. Nepal has endured a brutal campaign so far, losing all four of its previous matches. Khadkaâs appointment is seen as an effort to stabilise the team and restore confidence ahead of the final fixtures, as ANFA looks to restructure its coaching setup and prepare for future international competitions.
