Shanishchare, Jhapa – Arjundhara Ward No. 6 successfully defended its title at the U-18 Ward-Level Football Tournament, claiming victory for the second time in the competition's history. The tournament, organized annually by Shanishchare FC, concluded today at the Arjundhara Sports Ground with a hard-fought final.
Ward No. 6, the tournament's inaugural edition champion, reclaimed its dominance by edging past fierce rivals Ward No. 8 in a closely contested match, winning by a narrow margin of a single goal. Sahil Tamang emerged as the match-winner, netting the decisive goal and finishing as the tournament's highest scorer.
Aman Danuwar of Ward No. 6 was named Player of the Match for his outstanding performance, while Bhim Rai of the same team was recognized as the Best Coach. Ward No. 8's Kshitij Adhikari was awarded Best Player of the Tournament, while Luckyram Hemram was honoured as the Best Defender and Sangey Tamang as the Best Midfielder.
All 11 teams from Arjundhara Municipality participated in the competition. Ward No. 7 was recognized as the Fair Play Team, with their goalkeeper Anmol Limbu winning the Best Goalkeeper award. Arjundhara Ward No. 1 captain Ganesh Gajmer was named Player of the Year, and he received a bicycle worth Rs. 15,000 for his outstanding contributions.
The champions received a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and a prestigious trophy, while the runners-up took home Rs. 30,000 and a trophy. The awards were presented by Jhapa 11 FC President Jal Kumar Gurung, Arjundhara Municipality Mayor Baldev Singh Gomden, ward chairmen, and other distinguished guests.
