APF Club Crowned ANFA Women’s Champions After Thwarting Army

Reigning Women’s League champions APF Club further solidified their status as the powerhouse of Nepali football by clinching the ANFA Women’s Championship 2082 title in Udaipur. In a tightly contested final held on Saturday, APF overcame a resilient Tribhuvan Army Club with a 2-1 victory to hoist the trophy. After a scoreless opening half, the deadlock was finally broken in the 55th minute by Gita Rana, giving APF the momentum they needed. The lead was doubled in the 68th minute when midfield stalwart Renuka Nagarkote found the back of the net, providing what would ultimately be the winning cushion. Despite the two-goal deficit, Tribhuvan Army Club refused to concede quietly. Jenifer Rana managed to pull one back in the 72nd minute, sparking hopes of a late-game comeback and setting up a frantic final twenty minutes. However, the APF defensive unit held firm under pressure to protect their lead until the final whistle. Along with the prestigious title, APF Club walked away with a cash prize of NPR 750,000, while the runners-up, Army, received NPR 500,000. The tournament, which kicked off on Phagun 1, featured 10 competing teams and served as a significant showcase for the rising standard of the women's game in Nepal.
