Church Boys United Thrash Sankata as Friends and JYC Battle to Gritty Stalemate

The National League 2082 continued on Wednesday at the ANFA Complex, Lalitpur. The day brought contrasting results: Church Boys United secured a decisive, high-scoring win, while Friends' Club and Jawalakhel Youth Club drew in a defensive battle marked by missed chances.

Friends' Club and JYC Share Points

The afternoon match was closely contested, as Friends' Club Kopundole and Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) finished 1-1. Friends' Club took the lead in the 16th minute through Ashish Chapagain, capitalising on early pressure. They maintained that advantage throughout a physical first half, during which goalkeeper Mausham Lungeli Magar received a yellow card.

Jawalakhel Youth Club equalised early in the second half, as substitute Bikash Darlami Magar scored in the 47th minute. The remainder of the match was tactical, with both coaches making substitutions in search of a winner. Despite several late yellow cards, including two for Prashant Laksam of Friends' Club, neither team could secure victory. However, Laksam's strong midfield performance earned him Player of the Match honours.

Church Boys United Overpower Sankata Club

Church Boys United (CBU) secured a 5-2 victory over Sankata Club. Taking control in the first half, CBU led by two goals at halftime, with Rohan Karki scoring in the 28th minute and Sumit Shrestha finding the net just before the break. Shrestha, who was later named Player of the Match, added a second goal in the 79th minute to seal the win.

Sankata Club responded in the second half with goals from Bibek Rai and Richard Chukwudalu Onyema. However, defensive lapses allowed CBU's Milan Rai to score as well, keeping Church Boys United in contention as the single-round robin tournament enters its final stages.
