Jhapa – Rolling Club of Dhulabari has booked its place in the semi-finals of the Limbuni Thuli Memorial Cup 2081, securing a dramatic 5-3 victory in a tiebreaker against APF Pakali Sunsari at Kaidaley Natural Stadium in Arjundhara-3, Jhapa. After a tense goalless stalemate in regulation time, the match was decided from the spot. Rolling Club held its nerve, converting all five of its penalties, while APF's Yagya Bikram Malla saw his shot saved by Rolling's goalkeeper Yubaraj Puri—a decisive moment. For APF, only Balram Niroula, Dhan Bahadur Shrestha, and Sanjar Sardar found the net, while Saroj Karki, Bishal Darji, Rujan Neupane, Arun Meche, and Aditya Dhungel all converted their penalties for Rolling. A Tournament in Tribute The Charity Youth Club organises the tournament in memory of Limbuni Thuli, a former resident of a Bhutanese refugee camp. She passed away last year after moving to the United States for rehabilitation. Her son, Babi Subba, a football player and coach now residing in the US, sponsored the tournament to honour his mother's legacy. Upcoming Matches & Prize Details The first semi-final will see Jalthal FC Jhapa take on Red Horse FC Ilam on Thursday. The tournament winner will claim a cash prize of Rs 155,555, the runner-up will receive Rs 77,777, according to organising committee coordinator Surya Imbung. The event is estimated to cost around Rs 1.4 million.
