Nepal’s Elite Gamers Punch Tickets to Asian Games Qualifiers

KATHMANDU, NEPAL – The Nepal Esports Association (NESA) has finalised its roster for the 20th Asian Games. After the 6th Nepal Esports Championship & Expo, which began on April 3, a new group of Nepali E-athletes has qualified for the upcoming regional qualifiers in Japan.

The headline victory went to Team 3RB (3 Real Brothers), which won the PUBG Mobile national title, defeating 53 teams. They will now compete in the PUBG Mobile (Asian Games Version) at the international level. In solo events, Unish Koju placed first in eFootball Mobile among 138 participants, with Rojik Bhandari as runner-up. On console, Mabin Dahal won the eFootball (PS5) championship, ahead of Udip Maharjan. The same day, DraWReNz! emerged as the national champion after defeating Horaa Esports in a hard-fought Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Grand Finale. Simultaneously, The Order overcame Megazord to clinch the top spot in Honour of Kings (HoK).

These victories represent a historic milestone for the athletes, according to NESA President Suraj Dangol, who emphasised the association's commitment to providing a transparent pathway for talent to compete against the region's elite.

As these champions prepare for the Regional Qualifiers, they are building on a decade of progress since NESA's formation in 2016. Recent achievements, including bronze medals in eCricket and top-5 finishes at the 19th Asian Games, demonstrate this growth. Looking ahead, the 2026 season is expected to be pivotal for the professionalisation of esports in Nepal. The upcoming Aichi-Nagoya qualifiers will serve as the final step before the main event in Japan, linking past progress to future aspirations.
