Birtamod, Jhapa – Balmiki and Nidi School secured impressive victories on the fifth day of the Harikumar Prasai Inter-School Under-13 District Level Knockout Football Tournament, held in memory of the late educationist Harikumar Prasai. The tournament, hosted at Everest Smart Education Academy in Birtamod-6, saw Balmiki deliver a commanding performance in the day's opening match, thrashing Newtons with a resounding 7-0 victory. Darpan Gurung's standout performance earned him the Man of the Match award. In the second fixture, Nidi School dominated Sungabha School, securing a solid 3-0 win. Prajwal Baskota was named Man of the Match for his stellar contribution. The action continues on Sunday with two highly anticipated matches. East Horizon will take on Suryadaya in the first game, followed by a clash between Everest and Children's School. The tournament, featuring 16 participating schools, will conclude with the final showdown on Falgun 6. The competition aims to promote grassroots football development and honour Harikumar Prasai's legacy by fostering young talent in the district.
