Birtamod, Jhapa-Arjundhara Municipality, is on the verge of clinching the championship in the first inter-municipal women's football tournament, which is currently underway in Birtamod, Jhapa.
Arjundhara secured their place in the final with a commanding 2-0 victory over Bhadrapur Municipality in the last semi-final, which was held at Domalal Rajbanshi Stadium on Saturday. They will now face Kankai Municipality in the title clash.
Captain Jennifer Rana Magar and Menuka Ale Magar found the net for Arjundhara, who dominated possession and kept Bhadrapur under pressure for most of the match. The first half ended in a stalemate, but Jennifer broke the deadlock two minutes into the second half. Menuka doubled the lead in the 13th minute, sealing a well-deserved win. 
Renu Limbu was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance. She received a cash prize of Rs 5,000, presented by Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar, Bhadrapur Deputy Mayor Radha Karki, and Birtamod Municipality Sports Development Committee Chairman Bikash Giri.
The much-anticipated final between Arjundhara and Kankai Municipality is set for Falgun 5. The champions will take home a grand trophy and a cash prize of Rs 300,000, while the runners-up will be awarded Rs 150,000. The Birtamod Municipality Sports Development Committee is organizing the tournament.
