Trailmandu Announces 10K Charity Run to Aid Bhote Koshi Flood Victims

Trailmandu will host the Flood Relief 10K Trail Run this Saturday to support victims of the recent Bhote Koshi floods. Founded and coordinated by champion ultrarunner Rasila Tamang, the event directs all collected registration funds straight to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. More than 30 domestic and international athletes have already secured their starting spots for the charity race. The 10-kilometre route begins at the iconic Swayambhu stupa. Runners will navigate through Ichangu, push uphill to Seto Gumba, and circle back to the starting line via the returning Ichangu trails. You can watch the athletes test their physical endurance along these historical paths if you plan your morning near the Swayambhu area.

Tamang brings fresh international experience and established fundraising momentum to this local cause. She returned to Nepal just days ago after a rigorous two-month training block in Grächen, Switzerland, and La Grave, France. She also competed in a demanding French ultra race during her European training schedule. She utilised that specific competition to raise 100,000 rupees for flood relief in direct partnership with the Juniper Trust.

Tamang is the first Nepali female ultrarunner to win the Asia Trail Master. Her athletic achievements operate alongside direct environmental action. She has spent the past two years collaborating with the Juniper Trust to combat the physical impacts of climate change in Nepal. Together, they have planted 5,000 trees to stabilise vulnerable local terrain. You can see how community sporting events directly support broader humanitarian and environmental goals in the strict charitable structure of this weekend race.
