Asian Paints Joins Karnali Yaks as Co-Sponsor for NPL Season 2

Kathmandu — In a significant boost ahead of the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Karnali Yaks has officially signed a co-sponsorship agreement with Asian Paints Nepal. The partnership is expected to add both colour and confidence to the franchise’s campaign in Nepal’s premier T20 competition. The MoU was signed on Tuesday by Grihendra Ghimire, Director of Karnali Yaks, and Aastha Satyal, Assistant Marketing Manager of Asian Paints Nepal. Also present at the signing ceremony was Ankita Shrestha, Assistant Marketing Manager at Asian Paints, highlighting the brand’s growing engagement in Nepali sports. “We are delighted to partner with Asian Paints for this new season. Their support adds value and motivation to our NPL journey,” said Director Ghimire during the signing ceremony. “Karnali Yaks are fully prepared for the second season, and we aim to make a strong statement on the field.”

Team Ready for NPL Season 2

The Karnali franchise has already made key signings ahead of the tournament. Australian all-rounder William Bosisto has renewed his contract, while Mark Watt (Scotland) and Max O’Dowd (Netherlands) have been brought in as new international recruits — both set to make their NPL debut this season. Veteran cricketer Gyanendra Malla continues as head coach, while Raju Basnet remains as consultant coach. Karnali Yaks have retained several of their core domestic players from last season, including Sompal Kami (marquee player), Gulshan Jha, Nandan Yadav, Bipin Prasad Sharma, Arjun Gharti, Dipendra Rawat, and Yunish Bikram Thakuri. From the recent mini auction, the team added Pawan Sarraf, Yubaraj Khatri, Imran Sheikh, and Deepak Dumre to further strengthen the squad.

NPL 2025: The Race for Glory

Organised by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the Nepal Premier League features eight franchise teams representing cities across the country. Defending champions Janakpur Bolts and last year’s runners-up Sudurpaschim Royals will once again headline the tournament, alongside Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gorkhas, and Lumbini Lions. The much-anticipated second edition of the NPL will take place from Mangsir 1 to 27 (mid-November to mid-December), promising high-octane T20 action and renewed rivalries.
