Red Horse FC Snatch Last-Gasp Win to Secure Limbuni Thuli Memorial Cup Semifinal Spot

Jhapa – Red Horse FC (Ilam) kicked off their Limbuni Thuli Memorial Cup 2081 campaign with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Buttabari United Club (Birtamod), securing a spot in the semifinals at Natural Stadium, Arjundhara-3, Khudunabari. With the match seemingly headed for a penalty shootout, Kismat Limbu delivered a moment of brilliance, scoring the winner in the second minute of injury time. His late heroics earned him the Player of the Match award and a cash prize of Rs 3,500. The Charity Youth Club organised the tournament in memory of Aitamaya Subba Suhang, affectionately known as Limbuni Thuli, within the Bhutanese refugee community. After passing last year, her son Babi Subba, a footballer and coach now residing in the United States, stepped in as the tournament's sponsor. "This is my small contribution to the game that has shaped my life while keeping my late mother's name alive in our community," Babi shared. The tournament continues on Monday, with hosts Charity Youth Club set to face Intra Pathari 11 (Morang) in a high-stakes quarterfinal. Tournament coordinator Surya Imbung confirmed that the competition offers Rs 155,555 to the champions and Rs 77,777 to the runners-up. The event is expected to cost Rs 1.4 million to complete. .
