The Everest Women's Volleyball League (EWVL) expands its geographic reach with the addition of the Sudurpashchim Royal Warriors, who join as a new franchise for the upcoming third edition.
This expansion is a significant step for domestic volleyball, aiming to increase the sport's professional presence nationwide. Owned by Uma Gautam Bhandari, Sanjeep Shahi, and Shree Kumar Bhandari, the franchise is committed to providing a high-performance platform for athletes from Nepalâs rural, remote, and historically marginalised communities. By leveraging the passion and potential of the Far Western province, the Royal Warriors seek to create a direct pathway for regional talent to reach elite competition.
Everest Women's Volleyball League Chief Executive Officer Snevy Chapagain welcomed the new team, stating that its inclusion strengthens the leagueâs competitive framework and reinforces its commitment to advancing national womenâs sports.
As the EWVL prepares for its third season, the addition of the Royal Warriors introduces a new regional rival, expands the talent pool, and broadens opportunities for professional volleyball in Nepal.
