Biratnagar — Three Star Club etched their name in glory again, lifting the coveted Birat Gold Cup title for the second time with a convincing 2-0 victory over Church Boys United in a high-stakes final at Shahid Stadium on Wednesday. From the opening whistle, Three Star stamped their authority on the contest, with forward Khemraj Shrestha striking early in the 5th minute to set the tone. Midfielder Dipesh Ghale doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, capping off a dominant performance from the Lalitpur-based outfit. This marks Three Star's second triumph in the prestigious tournament, adding to their previous title win in the fifth edition. With the win, Three Star pocketed a handsome Rs. 1.1 million purse along with the champions' trophy, while runners-up Church Boys United had to settle for Rs. 500,000.
