Saurya Airlines and Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital Named Title Sponsors for Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup 2081

The second edition of the Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup 2081 has secured a significant boost, with Saurya Airlines and Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital stepping in as the title sponsors. The prestigious football tournament will now officially be known as the "Saurya Airlines and Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup".
In a heartfelt tribute, this year's edition will also honour the legacy of Gambhir Rai, a former national player and Gold Cup Working Committee member, by being named the "Gambhir Rai Memorial Edition".
The sponsorship agreement was formally signed today at Hotel Airport in Bhadrapur, with Dipesh Dhakal, Chairman of the Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup, and Deepak Pokharel, Chairman of Saurya Airlines and Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital, sealing the partnership.
The tournament, set to kick off on the 7th of this month at Mechi Stadium in Bhadrapur-8, promises to be thrilling. The stadium, which can accommodate approximately 20,000 spectators, is undergoing final touches, including repairs and painting of the permanent parapet. A temporary bamboo parapet is also nearing completion. 
"Big Prizes and High Stakes." The stakes are high for this year's competition, with the winning team set to take home a cash prize of Rs. 1.3 million, while the runners-up will receive Rs. 700,000. Individual accolades are also up for grabs, with the tournament's best player earning Rs. 105,000. Other awards include Rs. 25,000 each for the best goalkeeper, top scorer, emerging player, and coach, while the player of the match in each game will pocket Rs. 21,000.
Adding to the excitement, Jagadamba Motors has announced a TVS motorcycle giveaway for one lucky spectator who purchases a ticket to the final. Meanwhile, Mahendra Ratna Store Birtamod will award a Himstar TV daily to a lucky ticket holder.

The tournament has also drawn support from prominent figures in the community. Chandiraj Dhakal, former president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with other distinguished personalities, has pledged the first prize in memory of his parents, Ramrekha and Laxman Dhakal. The International Jhapali Society will present the second prize.
Speaking at the event, Deepak Pokharel, Chairman of Saurya Airlines and Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital, emphasized the importance of local support for the tournament. "As a local, I believe it is our responsibility to back initiatives that bring pride and excitement to our community," he said.
Bhadrapur Mayor Ganesh Pokharel, the patron of the Gold Cup, highlighted the enthusiasm the tournament has generated in Bhadrapur and South Jhapa. Deputy Mayor Radha Karki echoed her sentiments, urging locals to rally behind the event, which has become a symbol of regional pride.

The competition will feature a mix of national and international talent, with Bhadrapur Blazers, Jhapa 11, five A-Division clubs, and three foreign teams from India, Bhutan, and Bangladesh set to compete. Gold Cup General Secretary Jeewan Kumar Shrestha confirmed that the full schedule will be unveiled in the coming days.
With an estimated budget of Rs. 17.8 million, the organizers are pulling out all the stops to ensure the tournament's success. Prashant Bhandari, Chairman of the Jhapa District Sports Development Committee, expressed confidence in the event's potential to elevate football in the region.
As the countdown to the Bhadrapur Jhapa Gold Cup begins, anticipation is building for what promises to be a celebration of sport, community, and legacy.
